If this thread is closed:

shouldn't this one be, too?

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=502702

I don't think either should be, but I'm just sayin'...

I don't see the comparison. There is a rule specifically about drug threads but there isn't one about alcohol. Also as mentioned in the post when I closed it I said I'm asking Geoff for clarification so potentially it could be reopened. I'm just trying to respect Geoff's stated wishes about how he wants his site to run until he says otherwise.

Sorry, I was always taught that alochol was a drug. Just a legal one, like the OP's.

I think Geoff's problem is not with drugs in general, but with the legality of such a thing. And illegal drugs are illegal.

It wasn't about illegal drugs. They were legal, like alcohol.

Not completely according to some sources. It's banned in Australia, Belgium Denmark, Italy and South Korea and in the state of Louisiana. Other states are currently working through the process of banning/restricting it.

I know there are some places in the states where you can't sell alcohol (and in most states it is regulated by one means or another) I don't know of any place in the states where it is illegal to possess though, maybe it is somewhere that I don't know about...

Overall I suggest you take it up w/ Geoff (talk@dvdtalk.com)... I stand by my actions but I'll leave it up to him to decide whether or not he wants that sort of thing here. I haven't heard anything back from him on this yet myself.

The first link is not working, so which drugs were discussed there?

Salvia divinorum, legal in more United States jurisdictions than alcohol...which in my opinion makes the question raised by the OP an interesting one. I'm fascinated by peoples' varying experiences with it, so I figured I'd see if maybe we could get that thread going agian.

Well, it's a Schedule I controlled substance in this state. Just like heroin.

This is becoming a discussion of what had caused the previous thread to be closed.

Let's wait for Geoff to comment on this.
